New York Spring Break Trip
Twenty dancers from Washington, Sunnyslope and Thunderbird traveled to New York for Spring Break last year. They participated in three dance classes taught by professional Broadway dancers and attended the performance of two Broadway shows among other sightseeing activities. It was a once in a lifetime experience that all involved will remember forever. The picture to the left was taken at our class at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance and the one on the right is at Lincoln Center, where we toured The Julliard School.
Locks For Love:
On November 28th, 2005, Dance Unity participated in a hair cut-a-thon for Locks for Love. Locks for Love takes real, donated hair and makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. Ten dance students, two moms, one little sister and one teacher each cut ten inches of their hair off to donate to this great organization. We were featured on Channel 3's Monday make-over. All participants received a free hair cut and make-up application. A total of 140 inches of hair was donated that day.
