DESERT SCHOOLS COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship awards include: one $10,000 scholarship, one $5,000 scholarship and five $1,000 scholarships. Eligibility:
- Participants must complete 100 or more hours of community service between June 1, 2007 and February 15, 2008
- Be a 2008 graduating high school senior
- Be a child or relative of a current member, or be a member of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above
- Plan to enroll in, beginning in the fall of 2008, a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-or four-year college or university located in Arizona

SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM AT ASU
This is for seniors anticipating attending ASU in the fall. The program is designed to assist first-semester freshmen in making a successful transition from high school to college. Through Summer Bridge, students become acclimated to campus life at ASU, gain access to student support programs and services, and learn effective academic skills. Students can earn up to 7 academic credits during a five-week summer session, taking advantage of smaller classes with tutoring and structured study sessions. Living on campus, students build a sense of community and develop a network of peers. They can also benefit from their interactions with faculty, tutors, peer mentors, residential staff and program staff. It will be offered July 7—August 8, 2008. NIKEI STUDENT RELOCATION COMMEMORATIVE FUND (NSRCF)
The NSRCF is providing 40 scholarships this year for students in Arizona of Southeast Asian descent (from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia; may include Khmer, Mien, Hmong) who are planning to attend 2-or 4-year college, vocational school, or any other certified educational. BIGSUN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP
The Bigsun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The amount of the award is $500 and the deadline is June 20, 2008. The successful applicant must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution. BOSTON UNIVERSITY SUMMER TERM
There are two exciting opportunities for high school students offered during Boston University Summer Term:
- High School Honors is a six-week residential or commuting program in which students can either take two Boston University undergraduate courses, earning up to eight credits, or conduct scientific research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Participants must be entering their senior year in fall 2008.
- Summer Challenge is a two-week residential program for students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in fall 2008. This program is ideal for students who wish to explore college-level work without the pressure of grades.

HISPANIC NATIONAL BAR FOUNDATION
The Hispanic National Bar Foundation, Inc. (HNBF) is a nonprofit organization that works to inspire education achievement among Hispanics. They are now accepting applications until April 7, 2008 for its fourth-annual Future Latino Leaders Law Camp. This free week-long program will be held in Washington, DC from July 6 to July 13, 2008 and will provide 25 high school students with exposure to the legal profession and prominent Hispanic leaders. STUDENT INSIGHTS MARKET RESEARCH FOR HIGHER EDUCATION
Student Insights is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. The 2008 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $8,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school.
