WHS Educators Rising Rise Above All Others

This phenomenal group of Washington High School Educators Rising just returned from state competition. Enjoy these highlights:

• 19 WHS students are going on to the national conference in Boston in June.

• Our students qualified to compete in 15 of the 21 national competitions.
• Our chapter received the highest recognition in the state (Gold Chapter) for the second year in a row.
• 4 of the 5 students in the entire state recognized for the highest level of individual student achievement (master level) are from WHS: Jennifer Reyes, Johnny Levario, Maria Valencia, and Esmeralda Zavaleta.
• 4 additional students were recognized for the second highest level of individual student achievement (excellence): Emiliano Espino, Maria Villalobos, Rachel Copeland, and Miguel Guerrero.
• In other words, 8 of the 9 students recognized IN THE ENTIRE STATE are Washington Rams.
• Our Educators Rising chapter organized over 690 hours of community service this past year, and 293 of those hours were completed at over 40 ELL math tutoring events. We also donated over $600 of sports equipment to Maryland School and 958 new and gently used books to children across the state.
