This weekend, Washington High School’s Vocal Ensemble participated in the annual Northern Arizona University Vocal Jazz Madrigal Festival, one of the largest events of its kind in the United States. The festival brings together more than 140 high school ensembles from Arizona, California, Colorado, and Nevada and features special guest clinicians.

Our students were evaluated on tone, intonation, vocal technique, and overall performance, and they also worked directly with a clinician to refine and polish their repertoire.

In their first year participating, the ensemble earned an Excellent rating. Ratings range from Needs Improvement to Good, Excellent, and Superior, making this an impressive accomplishment for our students.
