Arizona FCCLA Early Childhood and Educational Professions Shine at State Leadership Conference

Arizona FCCLA -Early Childhood had an exceptional experience at the Arizona FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Tucson, AZ.
Conference started off with a bang when Chapter President, Danyelle Famularo (Sophomore) was named Member of the Month for February and then secured the title of Member of the Year for Arizona FCCLA.
Washington FCCLA Early Childhood was also recognized as an Outstanding Chapter with the Gold Chapter Award for their work in areas related to Family, Career Preparation, Community Service, Leadership, and National Level Service. Many thanks to our Outstanding Chapter Officer, Yulissa Perez Sandoval (Senior) for her hard work and effort to document and apply for the award.
Students in FCCLA worked tirelessly to prepare projects, which paid off when they were recognized at closing session for a job well done.
- Steven De Leon Cruz (Senior) received bronze for his project in National Programs in Action.
- Elshadiaha Hardin (Senior) received Silver for her project in Career Investigation.
- Ximena Armenia Roman (Senior) received silver for her project in Community Service.
- Emily Rodriguez Pineda (Senior) received silver for her project in Early Childhood Education.
- Analy Ornales (Senior) received gold for her project on Nutrition and Wellness and also placed 3rd in the state for this event
- Danyelle Famularo (Sophomore), Camyla Covarrubias Conde (Sophomore), and Mia Aguirre (Sophomore) received gold for their Focus on Children project which focused on Literacy in Early Childhood, they placed first in the state for this project and will be going to National Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. this summer!
The conference ended with Danyelle Famularo (Sophomore) being named as Arizona FCCLA’s Vice President of Membership. Danyelle will serve on the Arizona FCCLA State Executive Council for the 2026-2027 school year! This included a rigorous process of knowledge testing, numerous interviews, public speaking and networking with FCCLA members before being voted on by members across the state.
Arizona FCCLA State Leadership Conference was a huge success for Washington FCCLA Early Childhood!
Our Educational Professions students also had an outstanding showing at the FCCLA state competition, and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments!
- Camille Harp and Banin Tawfic earned gold medals in the Nutrition and Wellness competition.
- Natalie Reitsma and Giselle Villanueva earned gold medals in Interpersonal Communication and placed third in the state of Arizona.
- Griffin Turner Colling earned a gold medal in Say Yes to FCS and also placed third in the state.
- Hsa Win and Kay Meh earned gold medals in the Sustainability Challenge and placed second in the state.
They will go on to represent Washington at the National FCCLA Conference this summer in Washington, DC.
