The Washington Rams Cross Country teams opened the season at home, welcoming six visiting schools for a competitive meet. For many of Washington’s runners, the event marked their first-ever cross country race, making the meet an exciting milestone for both new and returning athletes.

The Rams made an immediate statement, with both the girls’ and boys’ teams earning first-place team finishes. The strong results reflected the effort, determination, and teamwork displayed throughout the meet.

Coach Swigert shared his excitement about the team’s performance:

“Coach Gendreau and I are so stoked and proud of everyone, especially those who are doing the sport for the first time. Both teams are so fun to coach and see out there on the course giving it their all. Looking forward to what our new and veteran Rams can do this season, and the growth that will happen along the way.”

With a strong start and plenty of season still ahead, the Rams are looking forward to building on this momentum, continuing to grow, and seeing what this group can accomplish throughout the season.
