We're excited to welcome Jarred Maddox as the new Principal of Washington High School!

This year marks Mr. Maddox’s 25th year in education. He began his career as an English teacher, serving as a student council advisor and soccer coach. He later earned his National Board Certification and taught AP English Literature, although some of his favorite classes have always been freshman English.

These experiences shaped his belief that some of the most meaningful learning happens when students are actively engaged, appropriately challenged, and able to see the relevance of what they are learning.

Mr. Maddox is passionate about great instruction and relevant, project-based learning that prepares students for life beyond high school. As a leader, he believes strongly in meaningful professional development and the impact of great mentors. He hopes to pay forward the investment that teachers and leaders have made in him by serving as a source of support, encouragement, and growth for teachers and students alike.
