Course Goals:
 This is a language arts course designed to develop speaking and listening skills and develop English academic vocabulary.

Course Objectives:
v  Pronounce words clearly
v  Follow oral directions
Ask and respond to instructional questions
v  Understand the organization of academic textbooks 

Classroom Rules                                                            Grading System
Please respect yourself, others, and property                      90-100% = A
Enter the classroom prepared to learn                                 80-89%   = B
All school rules and district policies will be followed            70-79%   = C
Choose and use words that are appropriate                          60-69%   = D
Exit the classroom when excused by the teacher                 Below 59% = F

  First Offense: Verbal Warning/Student & Teacher Conference                  
Second Offense: Classroom disciplinary action/Detention
Third Offense: Parent & Teacher call/conference
Fourth Offense: Administrative/Office Referral 

Ongoing Expectations:
v  School computers are for school business only.
Students will maintain an Interactive Notebook.
Students will work responsibly independently and within groups.

Late Work Policy:
Late work will be accepted for up to three days, discounted 10% per day.  Absent students will have two days per absence to turn in work for full credit.
