2021 Chromebooks are here!

There has been a lot going on in the world of technology at WHS. The Glendale Union High School District has been making improvements to the Wi-Fi system at Washington and has been able to secure a new Chromebook for every student on campus. Students were given older Chromebooks at the beginning of the school year, but they will be exchanging those for the new ones within the next week. There was a delay in receiving the new Chromebooks due to the pandemic, but the I.T. department has received them and is making the final preparations for distribution so our students will be able to work efficiently online at school and at home on these new devices.

The Chromebooks will remain the property of GUHSD. Just as with textbooks and other school-owned property assigned to students, parents and students will be held responsible for vandalism, theft, lost and /or excessive damage to the device beyond its normal warranty. Optional School Chromebook Insurance is available to cover the cost of accidental damage to the Chromebook. This insurance may be purchased through the school bookstore at a rate of $35.

Our Information Technology Specialist, Ezra Tui, has been instrumental in getting over 1800 new Chromebooks ready for our campus. At the same time, he has fulfilled his many job duties and has also helped countless students with Wi-Fi issues and other computer related challenges. He was named “Ram of the Month” for all of his hard work and professionalism throughout this process.
Ezra Tui awarded the Staff Ram of the Month in September.
